Aqua Peel facial

What is Aqua Peel Facial?

The Aqua Peel is one of the most popular in-office facial treatments right now. The procedure has become the go-to facial for celebrities, your co-workers, and your neighbors because it targets many of the most common skincare problems like signs of aging,  with little to no side effects.

Aqua Peel facial combines naturally exfoliating power of water with hydrating acid while removing dead cells without using harsh methods.

Aqua Peel facials are the perfect solution to every skincare regimen. The majority of people don't take the time to care for their skin as much as they should. But here is a good reason why you should: Your skin is your body's first defense mechanism; it's the first to protect you from the environment; cleaning and detoxifying the skin is one way for you to give thanks.

Aqua Peel facial is the only hydra-dermabrasion method that combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, hydration, and antioxidant protection simultaneously, resulting in clearer, more radiant skin with no discomfort or downtime. The treatment is soothing, moisturizing, non-invasive, and non-irritating.

What happens during the treatment?

The Aqua Peel facial removes dead skin cells via suction, and at the same time, infuses the skin with hydrating and moisturizing serums!

The Aqua Peel treatment starts with cleansing out pores by removing excess sebum and dead skin cells. Then, a mix of glycolic and salicylic acids are applied to break up any dirt and oil that's clogging pores. Then, the tip is used to vacuum out dirt, oil, impurities, and blackheads while nourishing and hydrating serums are simultaneously applied to the skin.

For those unfamiliar, the Aqua Peel facial is a medical-grade procedure that cleans your pores out and hydrates your skin. It's offered across the country by licensed estheticians. The multi-step treatment includes cleansing, exfoliating, extracting, and hydrating the skin with serums that are infused into pores with the pen-like device.

How Often Should You Get an Aqua Peel facial?

HydraFacial Tampa

The General Conscientious

Many skin care professionals will recommend you schedule a facial every three to four weeks; however, it truly depends on your skin, your age and the environment in which you live. Why? Your skin needs to fully heal between sessions, and in order to do that, your skin’s full life cycle needs to be taken into consideration. Skin cell growth and exfoliation are crucial. You don’t want to schedule another facial too early; you want to schedule it so that you are getting a facial once your skin has completed its full life cycle. Doing so will help keep your skin maintain a beautiful glow all year round. It should look clear, clean, toned and smooth.

Acne Prone Individuals and Aqua Peel facial

Individuals who experience oilier skin or frequent breakouts are highly recommended to schedule Aqua Peel facial more frequently; we even recommend scheduling a facial during a breakout to prevent even more acne from developing. Every two to three weeks is appropriate for most who deal with frequent breakouts. Doing so can help to keep your skin clear and in a healthier place. As the skin heals , the period of time between each Aqua Peel facial appointment may end up becoming further and further apart.

After Care

What should I do after Aqua Peel facial?

No special preparation necessary, avoid using RetinA and salicylic acid, glycolic acid products, prescription topical agents for 48 hours before the procedure.

Avoid sunbathing for at least 48 hrs.(although, were commend this indefinitely) to prevent UV rays from damaging your skin which slows down the benefits of Aqua Peel facial. Clients who absolutely cannot avoid sun exposure should use a broad-spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 40 or higher to maintain your improved skin.

AFTERCARE FOR Aqua Peel facial

The treatment is soothing, moisturizing, non-invasive and generally non-irritating. As with most procedures, visible results from Aqua Peel facial will vary from person to person.

What to Expect During and Immediately After Treatment

Your skin may experience temporary irritation, tightness, or redness. These are all normal reactions that typically resolve within 72 hours depending on skin sensitivity.

You may experience tingling and stinging during the treatment area. These sensations generally subside within three hours of treatment.

Client experiences may vary. Some people may experience a delayed onset of the previously mentioned symptoms.

You will likely see results immediately after treatment and your skin will feel smooth and hydrated for one to four weeks. For improved, longer lasting results, consider take-home products and monthly Aqua Peel facial treatments.

The treatment area is more susceptible to sunburn, sun damage and hyper-pigmentation. Avoid direct sun exposure and use a minimum of SPF 40 sunscreen.

Aggressive exfoliation, waxing and products containing acids should be avoided in the treatment area for a minimum of two weeks pre- and post-treatment.

Microneedling skin care Tampa facials

Micro-needling also known as skin need is a safe and effective way to rejuvenate skin and treat scars and wrinkles. Procedure for facial rejuvenation that involves the use of a micro-needling device to create controlled skin injury. As each fine needle punctures the skin, it creates a channel or micro-wound. The controlled injury triggers the body to fill these micro-wounds by producing new collagen and elastin in the papillary dermis. In addition, new capillaries are formed.

 Benefits of Micro-needling

Micro-needling is efficient in:

  • Reducing pore size
  • Stimulating collagen and circulation production
  • Improving stretch marks appearance
  • Reducing deep wrinkles and fine lines
  • Stimulating tissue regeneration

Dermaplannig facials skin care

Peach fuzz removal!

Dermaplaning is a super effective exfoliating treatment in which an aesthetician uses a surgical scalpel to gently scrape off any dead skin cells on the surface of your skin and (along with the peach fuzz on your face).

add on enzyme  peel to your facials, for better exfoliation

During a Dermaplaning session, the dermatologist or esthetician uses a medical-grade scalpel to scrape (not cut!) across the surface of the skin.

The main reason people do it is to remove the vellus hairs on their faces, also known as peach fuzz.

Peach fuzz can appear almost colorless, blonde, gray, or brown (or the same color as the hair on your head). Everyone has these fine vellus hairs coating our bodies, and they are meant to keep us warm and add another layer of protection to the skin.

A Facial is essentially a multi-step skin treatment that is one of the best ways to take care of your skin

Getting a facial is no longer a luxury – it is a necessity. It is just like getting a massage. If you care about your well-being in general, things like getting your face pampered or your body relaxed should not be viewed as a luxury.

If you want to take care of your skin properly, you need to give it the attention that it needs. It is not something that you do only when there is a special occasion. It should already be part of your skincare routine. We are talking about facial.

While it is not advised that you do it on a daily basis, you should at least do it once a month. If you are going through a treatment, you might have to do it every two weeks. But if you are only after the regular treatment to cleanse and rejuvenate your face, doing it on a monthly basis will suffice.

Getting facials will not only help you get a clearer skin. This can also help in a lot of ways. It can increase the circulation of blood under your skin. Not only that, it can be very relaxing. You will also enjoy getting the nourishment and treatment that your skin needs to battle the signs of aging. You will feel refreshed and healthier.

But is it necessary to do it with a professional? After all, there are home remedies that you can do on your own. It allows you to conduct your own facial at home. Then again, will that be enough?

Expert opinion

First of all, you need the expert opinion. It is your skin and you may know it best but there are things about your face that you may not understand. Certain skin types require specific products and treatments. Most people would not be aware of that. Besides, there are many things involved when you get a facial. There is a massage that will help relax. When someone else is looking at your skin, it will be easier for them to take a good look at the condition of your face so they can make the right recommendations.

Special equipment

While your hands can do the trick, there is certain equipment that will help make your face more receptive of the nutrients that it will receive. While the products that you will put on your face is filled with vitamins and nutrients, your skin should be able to absorb it properly to maximize the benefits. Not only that, some equipment can deeply cleanse and massage your face.

Products and Treatments

Homemade facial treatments are okay but there is something about professionally made products that are more effective. Years of research and experimentation have been done to come up with the best skin care product. You can rely on that to prove how effective the product is. When you come to a professional, they can recommend the right product and treatment for you to use.

Deeper cleansing and exfoliation

When someone else is looking at your face closely, they can see every single dirt and make sure that your skin is thoroughly cleansed and exfoliated. While cleansing and exfoliating seem simple enough with the right product, it might differ depending on your skin type. This is why you need the opinion of a professional to make sure you are getting exactly what your skin needs.

As you can see, getting a facial treatment should not be taken lightly. You need to learn how to give it the luxurious pampering that it deserves. With a healthy skin, your confidence will be given a boost and you will feel younger and revitalized!

How often do I need a facial?

Specialists working with skin, recommend that people have a professional facial about every 3-4 weeks. In all my years working as a skin care professional, I learned that people should get a facial at least once every 4 weeks.

The reason for this is that it takes that much time for the skin cells to move through a full life cycle of cell growth and make their way from the dermis to the surface of the skin where they are naturally sloughed off.

If you ask any esthetician today, he/she will more than likely say the same thing, as this has always been the mere thought.

Is getting a facial actually necessary every month? Is it different for different skin types? Is it just a want or a need? What does a facial do and why do you need one so often?

For starters, here are the main steps included in a basic facial:

  • Skin analysis followed by a cleansing
  • Exfoliation (A gentle acid or enzyme peel, ultrasonic exfoliation, microdermabrasion)
  • Steam
  • Face, neck, and shoulders massage (Sometimes this step is skipped for those with severe acne, so there is less stimulation to the skin, and the esthetician can spend more time on the extractions.)
  • Manual extractions to clear out blackheads and clogged pores.
  • Mask

Of course, there are a lot more modalities that can be added to a basic facial to enhance the results.

Microcurrent, LED light, ultrasound and high frequency are just a few examples.

While it’s true that the full life cycle of cell growth is about 30 days (give or take), this thought process was established way back in the day when exfoliating at home was rarely done, and if it was occurring, it was a homage or facial scrub used only once every few weeks which just didn’t give an adequate amount of cellular turnover.

Today, exfoliation products are used almost daily, by way of facial scrubs, sonic brush, retinol, and exfoliating cleansers, peels, toners and serums with ingredients like lactic, glycolic and salicylic acids.

So if the sole purpose of a facial is for catching the cells at the end of their life cycle like what has always been told, you do not have to get a once-a-month facial from a professional if you’re using exfoliants regularly at home. (Now of course, if you’re barely doing any exfoliation at home, then that’s a different story.)

With that being said, facials offer many skin benefits, and some are in need of it more than others.

Benefits of a facial include:

  • Expert skin analysis from someone who truly understands your unique skin type and how to best care for it.
  • Professional strength exfoliation to smooth the skin, lighten discoloration from sun and breakouts.
  • Manual extraction of blackheads and clogged pores to create smoother and less-bumpy skin.
  • Intensive hydration to repair the skin’s moisture barrier to keep skin looking plump and moist.
  • Facial massage to increase circulation to encourage brighter, glowing skin.
  • A scope for skin cancer (An experienced esthetician can call out changing moles that you may be overlooking and encourage you to get regular skin cancer screenings.)
  • Help for maintaining youthful and healthy-looking skin. (If you want to have younger-looking skin, there are many additional treatments that can be added on to a facial to encourage this.)
  • Professional guidance for your home care routine. (This includes seasonal, environmental, hormonal and age-related changes occurring with the skin.)
  • Stress release.
  • Time for you and only you.

You really NEED a facial once a month (if not more), if your skin has…

  • Little clogged bumps or whiteheads (known as closed comedones) that are under the skin, are not painful and don’t go away no matter what you do at home. (No laser or exfoliating peel can take the place of professional extractions to remove the blockage in the pores. Once the pores are cleaned out, exfoliating products with salicylic acid will help to keep them clean so eventually less extractions are needed.)
  • Acne that needs to be dried up and post-breakout marks that need to be faded.
  • Brown spots and discoloration that you’re looking to lighten (Chemical peels are usually required to get this done.)

For those with acne, clogged pores and brown spots, this type of skin requires consistent care to get on top of the condition to get the skin looking clear. So in these instances, I consider facials a true necessity and often times will recommend clients to come in weekly for additional treatments above and beyond a facial

 Expert Skin Analysis
Wherever you buy your skin care products (department/beauty stores, medical spas, online, beauty boutiques, pharmacies, etc.), often times, the salespeople see your face with makeup on. A benefit of getting your skin analyzed during a professional facial is that the Esthetician will see you without makeup. This reveals your try skin type, allowing the esthetician to cater to your unique needs with professional treatments and product suggestions for your home care routine. In addition to his or her ability to identify and treat your needs, your Esthetician also works with your skin for over an hour. This further ensures that he or she can properly analyze your skin type. This is exposure to which a beauty store consultant is likely not privy

Professional Advice
During a facial, you are with an esthetician for over an hour. This opens up an opportunity for the esthetician to give you her professional advice. Perhaps the biggest benefit of getting a facial is receiving an expert lesson on how to care for your skin properly. After all, this is knowledge you can take home that will last well beyond the duration of your appointment. The lesson will include product recommendations for your skin type and how to care for your skin at home so you can best maintain the results of your facial.

Less acne scarring

Professional treatments like chemical peels and LED treatment work to even out your skin tone, which means that scarring from environmental stresses and acne scars are less visible. You can expect your skin’s color and texture to see an overall improvement.

Visible wrinkle reduction

Stripping off the top layer of skin will allow more evenly textured skin to come to the surface, causing fine lines and wrinkles to seem less prominent. Treatments like microdermabrasion, microneedling, microcurrent or an anti-aging facial can cause collagen production to kick up which restores skin cells further defending against wrinkles.

Even skin tone

Lots of people like getting facials for the aesthetic benefits. There are many elements that can damage the appearance of your skin such as the weather, working at a computer for long periods, natural ageing and a poor diet.

If your skin has scars from surgeries, wrinkles, or sun spots, a regular regimen of facial treatments such as chemical peel designed to treat pigmentation can help even out your coloring so that such damage is not so noticeable. Plus, an evened skin tone can give you the freedom to breakup with your heavy foundation. Peels great for treating pigmentation and can also be used to treat sun spots.

Unclogged pores

Dirt, oil, and dead skin cells clog up your pores and cause them to be more visible to the human eye. Having regular facials with extraction, a chemical peel or microdermabrasion and chemical peel combination can help to decongest your pores and keep them that way.  Unclogging pores helps prevent acne breakouts.

Sensitive skin

Facial treatments for calm and sooth the skin from conditions such as rosacea or overly treated skin are soothing facial with a calming mask and even laser facial. These treatments help to restore the epidermal barrier. These can restore, replenish and rejuvenate.

Therapy for pre-cancerous conditions

Research has shown that chemical peels, along with other facial-resurfacing techniques, help prevent skin cancers by treating precancerous conditions such as actinic keratosis, which is an early stage of squamous cell carcinoma. Thus, regular facial treatments can be a tool in your fight against skin cancer.

More effective daily care

Once you’ve had a facial treatment, you’ve removed icky bits that have been clogging your pores. This means that your regular skin products – moisturizers, creams, serums, and lotions – will be more easily absorbed, and are now more effective

Feeling more relaxed

While you’d expect to feel relaxed while you’re having a facial treatment done, the benefits can last well beyond your visit to a spa. Having a natural healthy radiance and feel to your skin will help you feel calmer and more at ease with yourself as you go about your day-to-day life.

Depending on the facial treatment you opt for, there may be minerals in the products that can help your body combat stress.

Skin that feels better

If your skin is dehydrated and suffering from a lack of attention it can feel dry and generally unhealthy. After a facial people are often amazed at how taut and smooth their skin feels compared to before.

If you’ve neglected your skin for too long give it some TLC by booking yourself in for a professional facial.

Improved confidence

Having clearer, brighter and healthier looking skin can help put a real spring in your step. Many women love the extra confidence a facial gives them. Whether you’re just feeling like you’re stuck in a rut or need a boost for something such as a job interview, a facial treatment could provide the answer.

Skin Treatments FAQ's

Microdermabrasion Melasma hyperpigmentation, age spots and brown spots skin care derma

What Is Microdermabrasion?

Diamond Microdermabrasion

Diamond  microdermabrasion uses a crystal-emitting handpiece to gently spray on fine crystals to rub away outer layers of the skin. Like the diamond-tip handpiece, dead skin cells are suctioned off right away.

The different types of crystals that may be used include aluminum oxide and sodium bicarbonate.

Microdermabrasion is the most affordable skin rejuvenation procedure available today and you’ll see results immediately!!!

Microdermabrasion is a minimally invasive procedure used to renew overall skin tone and texture. It can improve the appearance of sun damage, wrinkles, fine lines, age spots, acne scarring, melasma, and other skin-related concerns and conditions.

The procedure uses a special applicator with an abrasive surface to gently sand away the thick outer layer of the skin to rejuvenate it.

A different microdermabrasion technique sprays fine particles of aluminum oxide or sodium bicarbonate with a vacuum/suction to accomplish the same outcome as the abrasive surface.

Microdermabrasion is considered a safe procedure for most skin types and colors. People might choose to get the procedure if they have the following skin concerns:

  • fine lines and wrinkles
  • hyperpigmentation, age spots and brown spots
  • enlarged pores and blackheads
  • acne and acne scars
  • stretch marks
  • dull-looking skin complexion
  • uneven skin tone and texture
  • melasma
  • sun damage

Microdermabrasion devices produce dermal high-pressure micro crystal flow on the skin. It uses dermal abrasion with suction in order to remove the top layer of the skin, where dead skin cells lie.

When will I see results from microdermabrasion?

Most clients need series of treatments to see results. To treat signs of aging, a Esthetician may treat you skin weekly, every two weeks, or monthly. Most clients  receive between 5 and 16 treatments.

After a series of treatments, clients  usually say they have smoother skin and a more-radiant complexion.

How long will the microdermabrasion results last?

The microdermabrasion results tend to be temporary. Clients  who protect their skin from the sun and follow the recommended skin-care plan will maintain their results for a longer time. Yet, no matter what you do, your skin continues to age. Follow-up treatments are usually necessary to help retain smoother skin and a more radiant complexion.

Is there downtime with microdermabrasion?

You will not have downtime or a recovery period. Some clients skin turns pink or red. The skin can swell a bit. These side effects are similar to having a sunburn or windburn for a day or two. During this time, some patients feel uncomfortable returning to work or being in public.

Use moisturizers and sunscreens. Avoid sun exposure for a few days immediately after the procedure.

(Salicylic Acid, Glycolic Acid, Hyaluronic Acid, Lactic Acid, Mandelic  Acid, Azelaic Acid, Kojic Acid, Tartaric Acid etc..)

Let us know if you use " Rodan and Fields" or "Mary Kay "

In some cases, the redness dissipates after only a few hours. However, following a proper microdermabrasion aftercare routine is the key to relieve the skin of unnecessary pressure.

Your skin's top layer of protection may be removed during each session, which causes the redness after each abrasion. It's normal after each procedure . To maintain and maximize the results of the microdermabrasion treatment, here are some tips to keep in mind:

The after care is very important. It is essential to use skin care products that are gentle for your skin. Meaning you should use the products that are soothing and calming. Avoid applying makeup for 48h following the procedure, avoid sunlight for at least a week. It is normal for the skin to feel tight and dry. Use gentle moisturizer. In some cases I recommend using anti inflammatory as an aftercare. Your top skin layer is being affected by the procedure, and that where all the dead cells live. Stay hydrated.

1. Keep your new skin clean and moisturized.
Proper rehydrating toner to wipe off skin debris that was left behind. Use a rich moisturizer. Moisturize your skin whenever necessary for the next 5-7 days to avoid skin from drying out.

2. Anti-inflammatory creams or cold compresses may be used to relieve the tenderness or burning sensation after the treatment.
Certain copper-based lotions have light ingredients that may help aid quick skin recovery. To improve the skin's quality, use microdermabrasion serums with high Vitamin A, C and E content. It will help skin look very toned.

3. Use a gentle cleanser.
Use a sensitive skin cleanser or something that contains no harsh chemicals and has absolutely no scent. Always rinse with cool or lukewarm water.

4. Trauma such as scratching or picking the treated area should be avoided.
Avoid picking or removing dead skin as this could cause pigmentation or scarring. Allow the skin to renew itself on its own. If it is unavoidable to scratch your skin , remember to apply aloe vera to sooth the skin. It should help heal the scratches for about one week.

5. Avoid irritating the treated skin with harsh chemicals, rubbing or tanning within 1 week.
Do not apply make-up or perfumes for about 48 hours after treatment. Avoid heat treatments like sauna, steam rooms and hot showers. The skin will peel naturally so avoid using exfoliating products as well.

6. Use moisturizer to help the skin heal faster.
Skin may feel sore or have a distinct burning sensation like a sunburn. Just remember to cool down your skin periodically. You may simply rinse your face off with cold water, rub an ice cube on the affected areas or use an ice pack when needed.

7. Avoid the sun for at least 7 days after the treatment.
The protective layer of skin may also be removed after microdermabrasion. It's necessary to have an extra layer of protection on your skin. Direct sunlight will damage your skin. If you have to leave the house, wide hats and sunglasses would be a good choice.

8. Avoid hot places that will make you sweat.
Avoid exercise for a few days after your treatment as excessive perspiration may irritate your skin. Even swimming should be avoided as your skin may have a negative reaction to the chlorine or salty water on the beach.

9. Drink plenty of water.
It can be a dehydrating procedure. Always make sure you also rehydrate with water. Water can also help your skin recover better because it’s moisturized both inside and out.

10. Eat lots of fruits and vegetables.
It's likely that you need to eat more fruits and vegetables while lessening dairy and red meat. And even take supplements. Or ask your skin expert which vitamins and minerals you need to maximize your treatment and get the best results the fastest. zen facial Tampa

What Is Microcurrent Facial Treatment?

Microcurrent is known to be the most effective non-surgical method to take years off the face.

The microcurrent facial is a therapeutic treatment that delivers safe, painless, low-level electrical impulses to strategic locations under the skin to firm and tone the facial muscles on both an immediate and long-term basis. The technology simultaneously repairs collagen in the dermis (the deepest layer of the skin), while gently erasing signs of aging in the epidermis (the top layer of skin). As we age, our electrical impulses slow down causing aging and sagging facial skin. Microcurrent technology works in harmony with the natural bio-electrical currents naturally found in our bodies to help speed up the cellular regenerative process resulting in firmer, healthier, more youthful looking skin.

What Are The Benefits Of a Microcurrent Facial?

Microcurrent facials deliver a variety of benefits to clients who wish to maintain a more youthful looking appearance and is an extremely safe and gentle non-invasive alternative to dramatic plastic surgery procedures, laser resurfacing, chemical peels, Collagen and Botox injections and other invasive treatments. The results can vary by individual and skin type, are gradual, and will not just "happen" over night. Although microcurrent facials are know known to produce an immediate and temporary rejuvenating effect, continued application will provide more cumulative long-term, lasting results.

  • Lifts jowls and eyebrows
  • Smoother, firmer skin
  • Reduces the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improves facial and neck muscle tone
  • Improved elasticity
  • Improves facial circulation
  • Aids in skin exfoliation
  • Encourages lymphatic drainage
  • Increases product penetration
  • Acts as a sun damage treatment
  • Enhances the body’s natural collagen and elastin production
  • Tightens enlarged pores
  • Re-hydrates skin

When will I see results from microcurrent?

The number of sessions depends on the client age and skin condition. The effects of microcurrent are immediate and cumulative. Clients go through a series of treatments followed by regular maintenance to keep a more youthful appearance. Each time a treatment is performed the new contour maintains its position better and longer. Typically clients will notice about 5 year reduction in facial aging.

The following are general and approximate guidelines for frequency of treatment:

  • 20 – 30 years old: Preventative, to slow down the aging process
  • 30 – 35 years old: Initial series of 6, once per week
    Maintenance every 6-8 weeks
  • 35 – 40 years old: Initial series of 8-10, once to twice per week
    Maintenance every 6-8 weeks
  • 40 – 50 years old: Initial series of 10-12, once to twice per week
    Maintenance every 4-6 weeks
  • 50 – 60 years old: Initial series of 12-15, once to twice per week
    Maintenance every 4-6 weeks
  • 60 plus years old: Initial series of 15-18, ideally twice per week
    Maintenance every 4 weeks
  • Perfect for special occasions or a quick pick-me-up for an instant lift lasting up to two days.
  • Excellent for post surgical facelift to maintain the lift and treat blood stasis, scarring, and numbness.

Contraindications For Microcurrent

  • Cardiac pacemaker or history of heart disease
  • Cancer or tumors
  • Thrombosis
  • Phlebitis
  • Epilepsy
  • Implanted
  • Defibrillators/stimulators or other devices
  • Pregnancy

If you have had a Botox or filler treatment, we recommend to wait two weeks to receive a microcurrent facial.  However, there is no downtime after a microcurrent facial.  Patients who regularly get microcurrent facials actually lessen the need for and frequency of Botox.

What is Ultrasonic  treatment?

New generation of aesthetic peeling and toning.
Using the high performance of ultrasound, this exciting cosmetic breakthrough provides a painless and perfect physiological skin regeneration. This new technology stimulates the revival of the skin tissue rendering it more radiant from the first treatment.

Ultrasound makes product penetration possible and more effective — the process is called "phonophoresis."  An antioxidant or nutrient is penetrated into the skin in this phase to provide deep environmental healing and protection. Other products specific to your skin type may also be applied. The ultrasound frequency opens minute pathways to allow the product to penetrate deeply into your skin, for better, more long-lasting results.

It is generally used after another treatment, such as microdermabrasion, as it can help soothe swelling and encourage healing.

Contraindications For Ultrasonic Facials

  • Pregnancy
  • Cardiac pacemaker or history of heart disease
  • Cancer or tumors
  • Thrombosis
  • Phlebitis
  • Epilepsy
  • Implanted
  • Defibrillators/stimulators or other devices

What is Ultrasonic Skin Spatula ?

Ultrasonic facials are increasingly popular alternatives to microdermabrasion. Contraindications like couperose  skin or telangiectasia are the reasons many clients can't have microdermabrasion performed. The Ultrasonic spatula uses vibrations instead of  the traditional abrading and vacuum methods to steadily remove dead skin cells from the face to leave fresh-looking skin.

Ultrasonic Skin Spatula is designed to pull out skin dirt layer trapped inside the pores to leave the skin clean and glowing. It penetrates deep into the cuticle layer, optimizing moisturizing effects to achieve elastic skin, tightened pores and improved skin metabolism which leads to decreasing acne.

The sound waves create small spaces between the skin cells (holes in the mortar between the bricks) that allow the ingredients in the creams / serums to quickly be absorbed into your skin.

Your aesthetician will apply water to your skin to loosen surface skin cells. Then she'll glide a "spatula" across your skin. It emits inaudible sound waves (about 28,000 per second) to lift the old cells off the surface of your skin. At the same time, those soundwaves push the water into your skin - leaving it plump and hydrated.

Great for those with sensitive skin!

It's a water-based exfoliation treatment, which works by being activated by ultrasonic soundwaves/ (28,000 vibrations per second), to loosen up dead skin cell build up and debris

Ultrasonic Skin Scrubber Effective Exfoliation: The spatula is made of stainless steel & allows for a safe exfoliation treatment without harsh chemical peels.

Boost Radiance: Ultrasonic waves power wash your skin to remove deep-seated dirt, excess oil & dead skin for a more radiant complexion.

Maximum Absorption: Infusion Mode allows for better skincare absorption.

Safe & Gentle: Great for those with sensitive skin

Ultrasonic skin exfoliator is a very gentle procedure for the purpose of exfoliation. It works very well for red or sensitive skin that typically doesn't respond well to other exfoliation methods.

It works particularly best for red or rosacea-prone sensitive skin that typically doesn't respond well to other exfoliation methods.

Is it safe for all colors of skin?

Ultrasonic facials are very gentle and safe for even sensitive skin. They work well for people with rosacea, acne, dull, or aging skin. They're safe for all skin colors because they don't cause redness, swelling, or irritation. So you could have this facial on your lunch break and return to work looking great!

What Are The Benefits Of a Ultrasonic Skin Exfoliation ?

  • Unblock clogged pores
  • Reduce the size of large pores
  • Prevent breakouts
  • Cleanse the skin of dirt, oil and sebum
  • Exfoliate dry, dead surface skin cells
  • Gently invigorate & massage the skin
  • Maximize absorption of serums deep into the skin

Does ultrasonic exfoliation hurt?

Nope. It's non-abrasive, not invasive (Ha! It rhymes!) and pain free.

Down time?

Your skin may be a little pink right after an ultrasonic facial, but most people feel comfortable returning to their regular activities right away. That said, some people do get mild flaking when the ultrasonic facial is used with other exfoliating treatments or when it's used with active ingredients that increase flaking.

Contraindications For Ultrasonic Facial ?

  • Pregnancy
  • Cardiac pacemaker or history of heart disease
  • Cancer or tumors
  • Thrombosis
  • Phlebitis
  • Epilepsy
  • Implanted
  • Defibrillators/stimulators or other devices

How Micro-needling works?

Microneedling CIT collagen induction therapy. Tampa

What is Microneedling?
Micro-needling also known as skin need

is a safe and effective way to rejuvenate skin and treat scars and wrinkles.

Skin needling is effectively used for:

  • Reducing scars (including hypertrophic scars) caused by acne,
  • Surgery or thermal burn
  • Fading stretch marks
  • Reducing fine lines and deep wrinkles
  • Dyspigmentation e.g. in melasma
  • Tightening sagging skin.

Microneedling is a method that some Estheticians use to treat different skin conditions. The technique involves using multiple tiny, sterile needles to puncture the skin and cause physical trauma.

This trauma prompts the derma, a deeper layer of skin, to rebuild.

Immediately after you Microneedling procedure, your healthcare provider may apply moisturizer and sunscreen topically.

Dermaplaning FAQ

Dermaplaning is a super effective exfoliating treatment in which an  aesthetician uses a surgical scalpel to gently scrape off any dead skin cells on the surface of your skin and (along with the peach fuzz on your face).

You might be wondering Why is this necessary?

It's because the buildup of dead skin and microscopic hairs can make your complexion appear dull, flaky, and can even cause breakouts due to clogged pores and hair follicles. Which is why this form of mechanical exfoliation is essential for maintaining an even, healthy glow.

Dermaplaning facials appointment available TAMPA skin care peach fizz hair removal

  •  Dermaplaning is recommended for all skin types.
  • Contrary to what you might think, Dermaplaning will not make your hair grow back thicker or darker.
  •  There's no downtime.
  • You'll need to be very diligent with SPF afterward
  •  It'll change your life as far as makeup application goes.
  • The results can last up to four weeks

Don't try this at home. Since Dermaplaning is performed with surgical scalpels (not your average razor), you should leave it to the pros. If you're interested in shaving your face, refer to this instead.

What Is LED?

LED Light Therapy

Light therapy, also called Chroma therapy or color therapy, is the use of specific colors as a healing technique

Light therapy, also called Chroma therapy or color therapy, is the use of specific colors as a healing techniquerent spectrums to treat certain skin conditions, like rosacea, acne, pigmentation, wrinkles and inflammation.

LED is the acronym for Light Emitting Diode. The diode has electrons, which are in motion in a semiconductor, generating lights. For LED, it is an encased computer chip, which gives out therapeutic wavelengths of light energy.

It looks like a laser in that it was previously used for treating wounds and scars that appear after surgery, but LED light therapy is different from a laser treatment. And nowadays it is used in skin treatment.

When will I see results from LED?

LED light therapy is a great way to treat the skin. After the procedure, the skin will be smoother and feel more hydrated. Many will see results immediately, however, if an individual does not see immediate results with LED light therapy, they should not be discouraged. Some individuals will see results after a month or so of treatments. Improvement of the skin will be based on the individual’s daily choices, such as diet and exercise, if smoking is permitted, age, condition of the skin, alcohol consumption, and prescription drug usage.

LED light therapy is especially effective in pulling the collagen that is found in our skin to the surface, helping mask any wrinkles or crow's feet that have developed over the years. While life throws a lot of different curve balls at us, and it's nearly impossible to avoid all of the things that make us age quicker, we can certainly arm ourselves with technology such as this to mitigate some of the world's natural processes.

Are There Side Effects To LED Light Facials?

If you have heard of LED light therapy, then, you might have had the fear of some side effects. Whatever you must have heard, it might be true or false. This is the truth.

You could experience side effects. Listen to the second of part of the truth; its side effects are not serious or rampant. Some might not even experience it, and that could be you. So if you are scared, read this and understand.

If you are experiencing photosensitivity reactions, be cautious to use LED light facials. To know if you fall in this group, do a skin sensitivity test and understand your skin reactions to certain conditions before you try to do this.

It is possible for some skin types to develop redness and irritation or itchiness. If it is just redness, it will disappear after a while – say an hour.

Redness that persists for more than an hour into days needs medical attention, so, consult a doctor.

LED collagen induction therapy

This is helpful to skin that has acne. The high energy in form of oxygen is generated during its exposure. This energy attacks the bacteria in the skin and in the process helps in treating acne.

Green LED Light:

Green LED light helps with skin discoloration. This is the best LED light therapy for removing pigmentation, targets dark circles and sunspots, also calming irritated skin. It also treats acne scars and rosacea.

Red LED Light

This is the one, which helps the skin to produce more of collagen. And like we said, collagen is proteins that give you supple and softer skin. Therefore, using this will bring forth the beauty of your skin. Also, it helps to increase blood flow to face capillaries and the skin generally. With time you will have a younger and fresher look. The red LED light therapy helps in treating scarring and rosacea. Because it goes deep and because it increases blood flow, it reaches the second layer of the skin and stimulates the healing ability of the skin.

Amber LED Light:

Amber light has quite a shallow skin penetration but is effective in the treatment of skin issues involving redness, such as spider veins. Though it is not typically used for tissue healing or collagen/elastin production, where it excels is in the treatment of problems such as sun damage. It is often considered to be an ideal therapy for sensitive skin, as its therapy is calming and soothing.

Amber light therapy is frequently recommended as a drug free alternative treatment for skin redness and flushing, irritation, rosacea, UV radiation damage, and reducing the appearance of the tiny blood vessels on the nose and face. It helps to flush waste from the skin, boost lymphatic flow, and increase cellular growth.

What is High Frequency and Why Do We Use It?

The high frequency facial is a skin care treatment used by professionals to help treat and prevent stubborn acne, shrink enlarged pores, reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, decongest puffy eyes, fade dark eye circles, rejuvenate the condition of the scalp and nourish hair follicles for healthier hair growth.

Pore Extractions

Everything You Need to Know About Getting Pore Extractions

Why Should I Steam My Face?

Steaming your face and skin is pretty much exactly as it sounds. A specialized skin steamer is used to deliver warm, moist air to the skin, which allows the pores to open. By doing this, an optimal environment for a deep cleansing of the skin is created. By temporarily widening the pores, we can deliver more nutrients, anti-oxidants,  and other rejuvenating agents, while also increasing our ability to remove impurities trapped deep within the layers of the skin.

What Are Extractions?

After the face has been steamed and the skin becomes more relaxed, an extractor is used to mechanically rid the skin of dirt, bacteria and other impurities trapped within the pores. A tool is used to extract acne lesions, such as open comedones (blackheads) & closed comedones (whiteheads), and the debris that block the pores.

Can You Combine Stream & Extractions With Other Aesthetic Procedures?

Steam & extractions are actually suggested as a first step for multiple aesthetic treatments.

By opening up the pores, you are able to deliver aesthetic products deeper in the skin, thus allowing for stronger effects. For example, the active agents in chemical peels are better able to permeate, exfoliate the skin, stimulate collagen production and improve the tone and texture of the skin. Facials also share a similar benefit as they remove layers of exfoliated skin and loosen debris, offering a more refreshed appearance post-procedure.

How Frequently Should I Get Extractions?

Generally, monthly steam and extraction session are recommended. The actual frequency can vary with each person’s individual skin type and response to treatment. These service are often offered as an option when patients come in for their monthly facial or peel.

Don't Try This at Home

Though it's technically possible to remove a blackhead on your own, it's better to leave the extracting tools to the professionals. That being said, be prepared—the process can smart slightly more than the relaxing facial and massage combo you were considering on Gilt. Pore extraction involves your esthetician using either their hands or a tool on a very pinpointed area, and while it usually doesn't take more than a little pressure to clear the activity, the occasional stubborn spot will take more work. Ask your pro to go easy on you if your complexion is particularly sensitive, and lay off of the retinol or any other products that make your skin feel delicate a few days before your appointment.

You May Need a Little Downtime

Often times after a facial, you can go on with the rest of your day makeup-free, or wait a little while before reapplying and go on with your day either way. After extracting, your esthetician  will apply products to soothe your skin and minimize the redness, but some areas may take extra time to calm down. Avoid applying makeup for the rest of the day if possible, and if you must wash your face, stick to a gentle cleanser for the time being. After a night of makeup-free bliss, you should be good to continue your everyday regimen.

Enzyme Peels

What is Enzyme Peels?

An enzyme peel is a beauty product that is used to deeply cleanse and resurface the skin on the face by treating the upper layers of skin tissue. This product is called a peel because it literally helps to peel dead skin cells off of the skin. By removing dead skin cells, the face is left clearer with a more even tone and texture.

Enzyme peels accelerate the process of skin cell replacement by accelerating the chemical reactions necessary to bring forth newer, plumper cells and to rid the skin of the older, dead cells. You have probably come to know the term exfoliate, due to scrubs and loofahs. Enzyme peels can accomplish exfoliation much faster. Peels can loosen and remove dead skin cells, promote younger cells, diminish scars, stretch marks, age spots, fine lines and discoloration.

Enzymes can also penetrate the skin to help cleanse pores and improve skin tone and texture. Natural enzyme peels are gaining in popularity because they are safe for all skin types, do not wound the skin--as a harsher chemical peel would--they’re inexpensive, and they don’t cause profound redness, causing you to hide out at home for days. Popular ingredients for enzyme peels include papaya, pineapple, pomegranate and blueberries. An added bonus to this procedure is while you are waiting for the enzymes to soften and brighten your skin, you can have an antioxidant fruit smoothie to cleanse and nourish your insides as well.
